Fun, Fun Fun!!

Fun, Fun Fun!!

Wednesday July 2 - Trip to Deadwood

We decided to go to Deadwood today.

Jesse watched the show that was on HBO called Deadwood. From what I know, it was a western type show that took place in the late 1800’s. It had way too many bad words in it for me; I didn’t watch because of the language. Now I am not a saint and I use some bad language, but I believe you can talk without the curse words.
We 1st had breakfast in Rapid City at Perkins. It was very good, but hot as good as Cracker Barrel. (There are no Cracker Barrels here)

Anyway, the town is much like Cripple Creek, CO. There are casinos in every little shop along Main Street. We stopped in several and made a deposit.

After walking around the town for a few hours we came home and just hung out.

I made can soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner.

See ya down the road.

Tuesday, July 1 - Bear and Wine

Toady we were up and out early. We decided to go to Bear Country USA and wanted to be there in the morning, so we were out the door by 8:45am.

We enjoyed our 45 minutes drive through Wildlife Park. We saw Elk and Reindeer

Big Horn Sheep

Rocky Mountain Goats

How this mamal get in here?

Then the Bears

Timber Wolves

More Bears

We also saw more Buffalo.

After the drive through you can get out of your auto and walk through Babyland.

You see Grizzly bears 1st.

Badger

(Rocky) Raccoon they were fun to watch, I have always liked raccoons.

Then on to the bear cubs

These guys were so much fun to watch. We watched them for a long time and took many pictures of their antics.

After Bear Country we went to Hill City and had lunch at Route 16 Diner. It was a 50’s theme diner with okay food. I got a real vanilla coke and was YUM.

After lunch we got fuel and then went to the http://www.praireberry.com/.

We tasted 5 different wines. They use some very unusual berries to make their wines. I liked three of the ones we tasted enough to buy three bottles. Wild Plum Fusion, Red Ass Rhubarb and Chokecherry Medley.

Then we came home had some leftovers for dinner and relaxed for the rest of the evening.

See ya down the road

Monday June 30th - Buffalo, Buffalo and more Buffalo

Our day started the normal way, walking the boys, coffee and computers.

Around noon we drove to Rapid City. We went to Kmart for mailing supplies and a few other personal items, then on to the post office to mail some items. Our next stop was to find a vet, as the boys needed Frontline flea and tick medicine.

Then we went to the Rushmore Mall, because decided I wanted to purchase a pair of Crocs. We went to a store called Herberger’s. It was like a Dillards or Hecht Company now Macy’s. Jesse has worn his Crocs the whole time we have been on our trip and loves them. So even though I think they look terrible on my feet I bought them. I will let you know what I think of them in a while.

By this time we were hungry and there stood a Red Lobster, we had a very nice lunch then went home to the boys.

Now the title, around 5:30 we went to Custer State Park and found Buffalo, Buffalo and more Buffalo. They were everywhere and it took us about 45 minutes to go less then ½ mile.

See you down the road
