Fun, Fun Fun!!

Fun, Fun Fun!!

Wednesday, August 15 - Boo Hoo Sondra is gone (Mountaindale, CO)

Sondra, Jesse’s sister arrived on Wednesday 8/8. We picked her up in Denver around 9pm, by the time we got back to camp it was late. We sat up for a short while then off to dream land.

On Thursday we gave her a tour of the campground, then headed into Canon City to have lunch at PIZZA MADNESS and It was yummy. After we went to Walmart to pick up some grocery supplies.

Back home Adam and Gage were there already, so Sondra visited with them while I began to make Lasagna for the family. The whole gang was coming for dinner and to see Aunt Sondra. It was a very nice evening, but by the they all left we were all tired.

On Friday we took the drive up Phantom Canyon Road to Victor and on to Cripple Creek. It was a beautiful drive and Sondra enjoyed it.

We took the boys with us, we made a picnic lunch and sat under a pavilion in the park in Cripple Creek.  After we returned back to camp we went up to Janet and Bob’s site for a campfire, hotdog roast and yummy homemade cherry cobbler.

On Saturday I worked until 2pm. Sondra made me breakfast and brought it down to me. We met the family at Olive Garden for dinner in Pueblo and enjoyed a nice visit.

Sunday we went over to Beth’s for dinner and finally got to meet our step grandson’s daughter, what a cutie she is. It was a nice day and visiting with everyone was lots of fun.

Monday we picked Ed & Marilyn up and headed into Manitou Springs. (Three of my most favorite people on the planet)

We walked around the little shops and then went to Adam’s Mountain CafĂ© for lunch. After lunch we walked around more shops, Sondra picked up a few items to take home to her girls, and Marilyn and I made a purchase at the Olive Tap. The guys only made a purchase at the ice cream shop.

From there we headed up Gold Camp Road to Helen Hunt Falls. It’s another very scenic ride. We were surprised that the falls were not very plentiful, I suppose the drought has really been the cause.

On Tuesday we drove Sondra back to Denver to catch her plane back to Baltimore. We were very happy to have her come visit us and meet our friends. We hope she comes back next year!

Monday, August 6 – Fun in the Mountains (Colorado Springs, CO)

I have been getting a lot of comments about not writing the blog. In my defense I just have not felt like it. I am retired and suppose to be able to relax. Working 35 hours per week and keeping up with the cooking, cleaning, laundry and dusting gives me not as much time to relax therefore the blog gets put on the back burner.

We have had some really fun days since the last time I wrote.

Ed took us to Old Colorado City to have lunch at Pizza Rustica, but it was closed so we ate at Jorges instead.

We all took a trip to Pike Peak while Bob and Janet’s daughter Kelsey was visiting..Beautiful!

Ed was taking us to Big R pizza, but Ed struck out again as it was closed!

We have spent as much time as we can on the weekends with the children and grandchildren.

One of the most fun days was spent white water rafting the Arkansas River.
