Fun, Fun Fun!!

Fun, Fun Fun!!

Sunday, April 28 - Finally Outdoors is Set Up (Colorado Springs, CO)

When I left you last we were going to Springs to watch Gage play hockey. He loves hockey and plays very well for his age group. He plays at the U.S. Olympic Training Center which is right next to the World Arena.

When we got there the Olympic Figure skaters were practicing.

They play three - 18 minute games and I am not sure but I think they won 2 of 3..

On Thursday the weather was much better and Jesse went off to work. He was only going to work for a few hours because we were going to drive to Boone where Beth lives to await the arrival of her new appliances. That took up all of our afternoon and early evening. We stopped on the way back to camp for some fast food at Arby’s. Spent the rest of the evening just munching and relaxing.

Friday Jesse went to work again and I went to town to get a manicure and shop at Safeway for meat and produce. WE love shopping at Walmart because the prices are good, but their produce and meats are not always the best.

After I returned I went right to work. We had a group arriving for the weekend and it was steady until around 4pm. I worked until 6pm went the last guest arrived.

At home I grilled some fish with baked potato and salad for dinner.

Saturday I made potato salad before going down to work in the office for 2 hours. Not much going on that needed my attention so I went home. Made some lunch for us and no sooner sat down to eat, I got called back down to check in an unscheduled guest. No problem it was quick and I was back home.

After lunch we changed and got dressed to go over to Beth’s again to help celebrate Ryan’s, our grandson, 19th birthday. It was a beautiful day around 80 degrees in Pueblo and Boone.

Adam made BBQ ribs, I made potato salad and Beth made beans, garden salad and chips and dip. It was a good time being with the family again and the birthday guy was happy with his haul.

Today we spent the day outside getting our site set-up. We also got the basement some what organized.

Then we cleared out the big truck. We have a guy coming in from Texas on Thursday that wants to buy it.

Here are some pictures of what we look like now.

After we sat outside for awhile just enjoying our space and resting. We put out the humming bird feeder and we had a bird feeding already.

I came in to take a shower while Jesse took a nap while sitting in his outdoor recliner.

To quote a dear friend  …………..  Life is Good!

Wednesday, April 24 - More Snow (Colorado Springs, CO)

We woke up to another winter wonderland on Tuesday.

Again it was just beautiful:

I had a doctor appointment, just a check up, so we drove into Pueblo. As you can see the roads were slushy;

On our way back home the roads were all cleared but there was steam from the road.

I am not sure how well it is shown in this picture but it was really cool driving through it.

We walked the boys and got them all settled, we had some lunch then we took off to the Springs to see a movie.

oblivian

Was the movie we saw. It was a good Sci-Fi movie but I got lost towards the end.

On the way home we stopped and got Chinese food to bring home for dinner.

Today Jesse and I worked for a few hours. Jesse in the cabin and I worked in the office just confirming reservations.

All the snow is melted and now I am ready for it to warm up!

We are now getting ready to drive into the Springs to watch Gage play a hockey game.

Hugs to all!!

Monday, April 22 - Not Much Going On (Colorado Springs, CO)

Yesterday I started my morning making breakfast for the 3 of us. Bacon, eggs, and toast. Gage kept saying how good it was. He usually only has cold cereal for breakfast.

He was watching a movie on the TV. After that was over he and Jesse went outside to throw the football. I took that time to get cleaned up. We all sat outside for awhile, it was sunny and around 60 degrees.

Then after lunch we drove to the Walmart in Pueblo West to pick up some needed supplies and Gage’s other grandfather picked him up there. It was really nice having time with him and hope we can have him again.

After I got everything put away we just relaxed for the evening.

Neither of us were really hungry. I had a banana while Jesse had a bowl of cereal for dinner.

Today Jesse worked today for a few hours in the Ideal Cabin.

He and Lee (another work camper) are to rip out all the paneled walls, kitchen cabinets and floors. David plans to remodel and enlarge the cabin.

The boys and I stayed home. The high temps were around 57 today and partly sunny OR is it partly cloudy. You choose!

I stripped the bed and washed the bedding. I also did two other loads of laundry one of which was the boys beddings.

We received a call from Michael our Camper Force Rep from Amazon. Yes believe it, I am working at Amazon again this fall. I called Jesse over to the rig so we could do our phone interview. We were accepted. I do have a very good reason to work this fall. We are planning to travel to Alaska in 2014. We need fuel!

For dinner I grilled Jesse a steak and made apricot chicken thighs for myself.  Sides were mashed potatoes and broccoli.

We are suppose to get more snow tonight and tomorrow, so you may get more picture.

Saturday, April 20 - Family Time (Colorado Springs, CO)

When I left you on Thursday we had a winter wonderland that was beautiful.

This is what it looked like about 6pm on Friday. It warmed up and the snow melted.

I worked 5 1/2 hours on Friday and was very busy. We had a group checking in for the weekend.

During the winter they upgraded Quick Books so there are some new screens that I need to get use to and try to figure out..

Jesse worked on some problems we were having with the rig.  We noticed that the carpet was wet on the step up behind the bed. He shut the water off to the washer until he had a chance to get in there and find the problem.

He found that the drain hose was not secure and water was splashing out. He secured the hose and did a load of laundry to make sure there were no more water leaking. He put fans on the wet areas to help dry it.

We had left overs for dinner and just relaxed for the rest of the evening.

Today we were up and out the door by 11am. We drove to Canyon City to watch Kacie play soccer.

She is number 21.

This is Colt our youngest grandson leaving the game.

From there we all met Adam our son and Gage our grandson at Texas Road House for an early dinner. Yesterday was Adam’s 39th birthday and this was our time to celebrate.

It was a great day and much fun spending time with our family. We brought Gage home with us to spend the night. We don’t get to see him as much as the others because he lives with his Mother so we treasure our time with him.

Thursday, April 18th - SNOW (Colorado Springs, CO)

We were up at 5:30 am this morning. We were going to Kacie’s, our granddaughter’s assembly at 8am at her school which is in Avondale, about 1 hour and 10 minutes away from us. She was chosen to be part of the court at her prom and the assembly was to honor the participants. The prom “Queen” will be announced at the prom tomorrow night, it could be her!

We woke up to a WINTER WONDERLAND!   BEAUTIFUL!!!

It had snowed about 5-6 inches.

Around 6am I received word from Beth that school was 2 hours late, so no hurry…Then word again - school was closed no assembly.

Since we were already up we took a ride into town so I could have blood work drawn. Here are more pictures!

As we drove further in Colorado Springs we noticed they got a lot less snow, but the mountains views were just breath taking.

We drove around camp to take some pictures to share with you.

After returning from CO Springs, I made us some breakfast.

Then we went to visit with David, the owner, for a few minutes.

He wants me to work tomorrow and he just wanted to up-date me on the changes. He also wanted me to work on Saturday, but we have plans with the kids for Adam’s birthday.

Jesse went out to try and get the satellite set-up and finally had success. Good thing…I watched Food Channel and got inspired to make a pasta dish for dinner. Jesse said it was delicious.

I made a salad with tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and olive oil. Penne Pasta in marinara sauce with onions, peppers, garlic and basil with baked parmesan crusted chicken breast and garlic bread.

Now I am just relaxing and watching TV.
