Wednesday, September 18 - 1st Week in Maryland (Freeland MD)

1st let me say Happy Anniversary to Beth and DJ!

Anniversary[3]

So we arrived last Thursday. It was a hot trip across from the Rockies to the east coast, but we had no problems.

After we arrived and started to get set-up we had huge thunder storm. The thunder booms were really, really loud.

On Friday we took a ride to Hanover, PA and visited with Margaret. We all (the boys went too) got to meet the newest member of their family Skylar. She is a 4 month old peppy puppy, a real bundle of energy.

Saturday was Kelsey’s baby shower. I left camp about 9:15am and drove to Essex. I helped set up the room for the party and then guests started to arrive.

Kelsey received so many items for the baby, she will be a well dressed baby that’s for sure. Then she modeled her party hat.

Sunday we went over to Sondra’s. We visited with Sondra and Judy for awhile, then Sondra, Jesse and I went to lunch. We also walked around Trader Joe’s and found a few items to purchase.

Monday was going to be a day of just staying home and doing nothing. Then Mitchell called and he and Margaret were coming by for a visit. It was really nice to see them both and we sat around just getting caught upon  the the family news.

After they left we decided to go to the grocery store to stock up.

Tuesday we decided to take a ride around the area and stopped at Walmart for some supplies.

Yesterday we went over to Kelsey’s house to visit with her. It was really nice to be able to caught up and spend quality time together. She is such a special person and I wish her love and happiness.

Sunday, September 8 - Visiting with the Lehenbauer’s

We departed Mountaindale Wednesday Sept 4th AM. We drove to Russell, KS staying at   -  Triple J RV Park for one night. We got set up,and got the dish set up. I was really tired so Jesse went to get fuel and brought back a pizza from Casey’s.

On Thursday we arrived at Knob Noster around 1:15. I sure was nice to see these good friends again. We visiting with Bob and Janet  ..  Fun times ahead. — at Knob Noster State Park.

They made dinner for us fried catfish, potatoes, hush puppies, cole slaw and vegetable salad. Everything was yummy and the company was great!

On Friday morning Jesse and Bob worked on changing our outside break pads. Mostly Bob worked and Jesse assisted.

I made a cinnamon coffee cake to share. When Janet got home from taking Kelsey to the doctor’s we sat in our rig and visited. Today was Janet’s birthday so she brought home cupcakes that Kelsey had made for her and she shared with us.

We relaxed for the afternoon then at 4pm we drove 45 minutes to have dinner in Lincoln, MO at Charlie’s Buffet.

It’s home-style, down-home cooking your grandma would make, only better. Fresh rolls and honey butter, mashed potatoes and gravy, any vegetable you could possibly want, noodles, sauerkraut, ham, roast beef, fried chicken. All made fresh. Then there’s the desserts! There were 49 different desserts on the 30 foot buffet. It was heavenly.

We were all stuffed when we left.We stopped at Walmart on the way back to camp to purchase some A/C refrigerant for the car. The car A/C really needed a charge.

After we walked the boys we went over to Bob and Janet's and played Sequence. The girls beat the boys 3 out of 5!

We called it a night and went home to relax and watch a little TV.

Saturday I slept in until 8:00, got up showered and dressed and Janet and I went to pick up Kelsey.

She really looks good. You would not know she was sick. She has been diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, POTS.

There is a sale of T-shirts to help raise money for Kelsey’s care. If you are interested, T-shirts are $15/each, $10 for youth with additional shipping costs if you are not able to pick up in Hannibal, Monroe City, or Knob Noster. Proceeds go to POTS Awareness and unpaid medical expenses.

You can also make a donation for Kelsey: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/kelsey-s-crew/80524

After we picked up Kelsey we drove to the Community Center in Warrensburg to go to a  baby sale. They had lots of things for infants on up to toddlers for sale. None of us purchased anything but it was fun looking.

We stopped at the bank then back to camp.

Jesse and I were leaving tomorrow morning but have decided to stay one more day and depart on Monday.

At 5pm we all departed camp, picked up Kelsey and went to dinner at Rib Crib. Dinner was okay, the company was much better.

After returning to camp we all played Phase 10, Jesse won. It was a fun night.

Today we are just planning to hang out at camp. Janet has dinner planned again, she won’t let me do anything.
