Fun, Fun Fun!!

Fun, Fun Fun!!

Wednesday, August 25 – The Fort

As I mentioned we had dinner last night at Dave's and Anne's log cabin home. They have a beautiful home up in the mountain area of Warrensburg. We had a wonderful time with great friends.

They have had it on the market for 4 years and just got a contract on it. They are very happy to move on with their lives as the rest of us have. They will be doing some travel. They are workers at LGE. Here are some pictures.

Today Jesse didn’t get out of bed until 7pm and I slept in until 8:30. I had coffee and computered for awhile and then got dressed.

We rode to LGE and got a letter from Tonya that allowed us into Fort William Henry without paying. The Fort dates back to 1755.

We went to lunch at the Adirondack Brewery and enjoyed sitting outside, our sandwiches were very good.

Here are some of the pictures from the Fort.

They recruited the young ones into the military, gave then guns and red coats. They marched in the courtyard It was very cute.

It started to rain so we decided to go home and watch movies that Jesse got yesterday.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Tuesday, August 24 – Another week done

Another week done, only 10 more working days and maybe if I an lucky less. They are cutting hours on everyone, so I may not work the whole 2 weeks.

We are getting ready to go over to Dave and Anne’s house for a gathering. I will let you know more tomorrow.

Stay safe and hugs to all!!

Sunday, August 22 – A rainy day

Today was a work day I went in at 1PM till close.

It started early for me because the down pour of rain started about 3am. It rain all day long with many periods of heavy rain.

I had some homemade chicken soup in the freezer and thought that would be good to have ready for Jesse when he came home for lunch. He works day shift today. I took it out and added some homemade chicken stock I had frozen and fresh parsley to spruce it up. It was something warm for him on this cool rainy day.

Of course the rain usually brings out all the crazy campers, which made for a busy night. People leaving a day early or wanting to move into cabins for the night to escape the rain.

When I got home at 10:45PM I got undressed and watched Big Brother that Jesse had recorded for me.

All in all it was a good Sunday and I only have two more to do for this summer.

Stay well!

Thursday, August 19 – We are still here

We are just hanging out in a holding pattern.  Just a few weeks to go, actually 19 days.

Last Tuesday evening 14 of us work campers went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner.  Everyone had a good time and we always enjoy going out with the gang and the food was good.

Last Wednesday we took a ride to Lake Placid, site of a couple of Winter Olympics and a really big crocodile.

We had the Boys with us so we spent most of the time looking for a place to park in the shade.   We finally found one and after taking the Boys out for their business we went in search of pizza.

We found a nice little restaurant on the eastern edge of town.  We sat outside and had an enjoyable lunch of wood fired pizza and a salad.

After lunch we took a walk through some of the shops only purchasing some caramel popcorn and some earring clasps for Ginger wanted from a bead shop.

We walked inside to see the ice rink and some young girls were having a class.

This week we just hung out around home.  We did go to Bolton Landing Tuesday evening to Cate’s restaurant for a very good over priced Italian dinner.  This time it was just the two of us.

Yesterday morning Darrell and Judy of Wandering America stopped by for a short visit.   They are former work campers at LGE and were in the area for a few days.   We were working while they were here so we were not able to spend time with them and they were leaving on our day off.  We know we will see them again down the road.

We have been working out our travel plans for when we leave.  Looks like we are going to Alburg, Vermont for a few days.  It is close enough to be our base for visiting Montreal.

From there we are going to Manheim, PA. for the large RV show in Hershey for 3 days and then to Madison Bay on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay to spend some quality time with Ginger’s older brother and family at there seasonal campground.

That’s it for now.  Stay safe.

Sunday, August 8 – Halloween weeks

As I sit here typing looking out the window this is what I see.

IMG_3157

He or she looked like they were enjoying there pinecone nut very much and they are really fun to watch. The boys also like watching and wanting to run after them. Nature can be so fun to watch.

I friend of ours lost their dog this week and another friend got a new puppy…Life goes on!

This is the first week of Halloween here at LGE. It is one of the biggest draws for the resort and we really fill up for the two weekends. You may remember from last year they do a haunted hay ride on Saturday nights. The tickets sold out in 20 minutes.

Usually all the employees dress up on Saturday for the work day, but this year only a few did. Here are the pictures I took.
