Fun, Fun Fun!!

Fun, Fun Fun!!

Monday, January 3 - Running Errands

We sat around this morning having coffee and computering. Watching TV, we saw the west side of town got snow, that is very unusual for Las Vegas.

We got showers and went out to the mall. Jesse wanted to go to Sears to purchase a meter that tests electrical power. He is suppose to use it to check on the dryer. Our dryer is still not working.

I shopped also and found two shirts on sale that I had to have.

We then went to Walmart where Jesse purchase another battery. The new Alpine Kram-a-lot only came with one battery. We thought it might be a good idea to have two batteries if we boondock. He also purchased a ratchet thingy to tighten the lugs on our tires.

By this time it was close to dinner so we stopped at Pizza Hut and took advantage of their Monday special. We took home two mediums pizza for $6.00 each.

We had our dinner and watched TV for the rest of the evening.

Sunday, January 3 - Hanging out

It has been a relaxing New Years.  New Years Eve we went to Carolee’s for a small get together with her and Chick and 2 other couples.  We visited, played games, and snacked till just before midnight.  Then we went outside to watch the fireworks on the Strip.  Carolee lives on the east side of town on Sunrise Mountain with a clear view of the Las Vegas Strip.   The fireworks were coordinated between 8 hotels with the Stratosphere being the tallest (and closest to us).  The fireworks lasted all of 8 minutes and then we were on our way home.  It has been 4 or 5 years since we made it to midnight.

New Years Day Jesse’s sister Judy came over for a nice visit.

Judy

We were all going to go out to eat and then do a little bit of gambling but Judy has not been feeling all that great so she begged off.

After her visit we went to the buffet here at Arizona Charlie’s and then hit the casino for a few hours.   We did not win but we lost very little for our 2 or 3 our stint at the machines.  Back in one of our previous lifetimes Jesse worked in management in the slots department at 2 different casinos.  You would think he either knows how to win on slots or would know better than to play them, but he likes the fact you don’t have to think when you are playing slots like you do at the live games.  Each play is random so you just never know when you will be lucky.

Sunday we just hung out at the Kram-a-lot playing on the computers, flipping channels and following the Ravens game on the net.  Looks like the Chiefs will be their next victim.

Our month here is almost over.  We will be leaving on Thursday, Jan. 6 for Lake Havasu, AZ.  We have not been there since April 1981.  We will be there for 5 nights before heading to Yuma and maybe a try at boon docking in Quartzite.
