The plan for today was to drive over to Galveston. Note the interesting lane divider wall is wavy as are the light posts. I found that to be very pleasant.
We drove up and down Seawall Blvd. then got out and walked on the beach.
I really loved the condos along the road with the different colors on each building
Jesse took our picture to prove we were on the beach. The water was very clam today. You can see there is still damaged buildings from Ike that came through in 2008.
I also found this crab to be an interesting piece of art on a building
From there we moved on to explore Kemah, and it's boardwalk .
We walked around the boardwalk area with lots of places to eat and shops to spend money.
We decided to go for late lunch early dinner at Landry’s
It was a fine dinning right on the boardwalk and water. We had good food that was high priced, but enjoyed ourselves. The best part of the meal was the bananas foster we shared for dessert. I wish I had taken a picture but we both were too excited to just dig in and we ate very drop….Yummy!
I hope you can make out what is written on the wall in these next pictures. On the second picture you can see Ike written at the very top at 13 feet. This whole restaurant was under water. You can see the other water levels for Katrina at just under 5 feet of water.
It was a great day exploring the area with nice temps and sunshine.
