This morning I made us breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast and jelly. After that was all cleaned up I made a picnic lunch.
We got our showers and headed out for the park again.
The Jellystone Park is about 5 minutes South of Estes
Park. As we approached Lake Estes we
noticed lots of elk along the lake. A few walked right out on the road and
of course we stopped. Traffic on the other side almost hit the elk and it
scared me very much.
We have been in and out of the park many times since we got here so we are very happy we have the "America the Beautiful" park pass AKA "Geezer Pass".
We entered and drove through the park again and were surprised
to find more elk since they are usually only out in the early mornings and at
dusk.
We even saw a glacier in the distance.
I was trying to take some pictures for Marilyn so she could see how the Aspens are changing, but couldn’t get a good picture. You can see how the trees are just barely changing to yellow.
We found a nice picnic area right next to stream to have our lunch. We shared our chips with the blue birds in the area.
My handsome lunch partner.
We came home around 4:15pm and just relaxed for the rest of
the evening.
