Thursday, November 12 – Memorial and Bricktown

We decided to go into Oklahoma City to see the memorial from the bombing of the Federal building back on April 19,1995.

We also went into the museum, words can not express the feelings that Jesse and I had while going through this memorial & Museum. It was a sobering experience that left us both speechless.

Moving on we met Shannon and Brianna in front of Bass Pro Shop so we could walk the Bricktown river walk area. We could park here at no cost and it was very close to the area.

We both were hungry, so we decided on Earl’s Bar-B-que.

I had pulled pork and Jesse had smoked turkey. They were both delicious and I really wanted more. Shannon and Brianna had already eaten lunch so they got dessert. They ordered a peach cobbler a-la-mode, it was the biggest serving I had ever seen served in a restaurant with 3 scoops of ice cream, but they ate it all.

After lunch we walked to the end of the river area then took a boat ride back.

It was a very enjoyable afternoon. We said goodbye to the two girls and drove back to the RV to let the boys have dinner and relieve themselves.

I made us some fish (salmon and cod) for dinner with a baked sweet potato. We computered for awhile then around 7pm we went to Brian and Shannon’s house for a visit.

We visited with them, while Shannon was baking pies and cakes. Around 9:30 we were really getting tired and so were they, so we headed back to the Kram-a-lot. We watched some shows we had recorded,  before going off to dreamland for the night.

9 days till Llano
