Fun, Fun Fun!!

Fun, Fun Fun!!

Saturday, September 12 – Montreal

Yesterday we decided to take a 3 hour Gray LIne tour of Montreal. It took us about 1 hour and 40 minutes to get to the terminal. We traveled through farm land with corn fields. Not as scenic as you would think.

Once into the city we parked the truck in a covered parking garage, I had to close my eye because we just barely fit and I could not watch.

We took our voucher to the terminal and exchanged it for out tickets. We had about 40 minutes until the bus left, so we went in search of something to eat.

We found a cute little dinner and had a bite to eat.

Frank was our tour bus driver.

I am not sure what I expected but he drove us around the city for three hours. He showed us things I have never heard of and frankly was not the least bit interested in.

We thought we would take the tour today that way we could come back to see points of interest on Sunday, but I have no desire to go back. The city is the size of Baltimore and Washington combined and traffic was very heavy everywhere.

It was a beautiful day and the many outdoor cafes and restaurants were very busy.  All of the pedestrian malls were crowded and it seemed like the whole population was outside.  Here are some pictures from the day.

They have bike stations where you can rent a bike for $5.00 for 1/2 hour and $1.50 for each additional 1/2 hour.

There was some story Frank told us about this church and Saint Joseph, being a doorman for 44 years before becoming a Saint and miracle worker. None of us really got the correct story so we made up our own..It was very funny because many of us added just a little to the story.

All in all it was a good day, but I was glad to be back home to the boys. It was a long day for them and they were very glad to see us when we got home.

I've driven through Montreal twice to get to the airport, and I hope I never have to go back within 150 miles of it ever again. The traffic and the drivers are similar to Baltimore.
