We left at 8:30 with Bob and Janet in the lead and continued south on highway 37.
We ran into some rough road, but most was not too bad.
There were some pretty orange wild flowers on the side of the road.
We stopped for fuel at Dease Lake and these flowers were on the building
Then Bob radioed us that there was a bear on my side of the road.
As we got closer we could see he was eating the flowers and he posed for me.
Then we saw a much larger bear on the side of the road.
All together was saw 5 bears today during our travel.
As we neared Stewart this Glacier came into view
Bear Glacier
Then a pretty waterfall
We arrived at Bear River RV Park about 2:45.
We registered and got set-up.
Then we decided to head on into Hyder to hopefully see bears.
It was raining so the guys dropped us off and went to park the truck. Janet was all decked out in her rain gear.
This is a above ground boardwalk over the river to view bears catch salmon.
We watched for awhile then decided to go get some dinner and come back. I asked the Ranger to recommend a dinner destination, he said the Glacier Inn. The food was tasty.
We drove around the small town of Hyder and I will show you photos in tomorrows blog. But I will leave you with this just incase you are in the area and need some repairs. I can’t recommend, but it’s the only place we saw.
