This morning started early. Awake at 4:30am to get dressed and go see bears at the bear walkway.
Bob, Jesse and I were on our way by 5:30am.
Janet didn’t want to get up, as she was up late into the early morning, so she sleeps late.
Just as we got there,we saw a black bear on the road, we hurried to the walkway to see him coming out of the forest.
Bob got a great picture of the bear jumping into the river that I hijacked.
In the rain we kept watching hoping more bears would come. We took pictures of fish.
Once we were finished at the river we decided to get some breakfast and the guys got HYDERIZED!
We saw this grizzly while we were on our way home walking down river.
Hyder has a population of 86 people. It is really not much look at, this is what they call it.
Post Office
Some homes
As we were returning to camp we saw the rainbow, the area is very eerie!
Back through the Canadian Border
It rained off and on all day, Jesse walked to the office to pay for a third night here and took some pictures of the campground.
I made baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, broccoli and rolls for dinner. We ate our dinner then got ready to go back to Bear River to watch for bears. We were not disappointed.
As the Mama bear continued to traveled the river banks the cub got left behind. I could hear it calling for it’s Mom. The cub climbed a tree until Mom came back for it.
Momma seems more interested in eat the greenery then catching salmon.
When they were finished they walked up river then crossed the road and were gone.
It was a good day the the bears are just awesome!!

Way cool!! Thought that it looked like a good bear watching spot when we were there in May. Your pics are awesome!!
Yay! The guys got Hyderized! Awesome! Looks like you had a great showing with the bears. Fun! One evening we watched a male grizzly insisting on courting this uninterested female grizzly. He was very persistent! She wanted nothing to do with him. Very funny. We sure are enjoying your blog. Makes me wanna go back! Have a safe trip back.
That was a very cool spot!! I can't believe your time in Alaska is coming to an end already . . . I've really enjoyed your travels!!
