I have to say that I love sharing our adventures here in Canada and Alaska with our readers, but I am getting very tired of writing every night.
Today we left at 10am, but before departing we paid for another night.
With Jesse driving we headed to Whittier area. Chuck and Kathy had told us the glaciers in the area are just beautiful.
We also decided to go to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.
They are a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife through conservation, public education, and quality animal care. AWCC takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round and provides spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Animals that cannot be released into the wild are given a permanent home at the center.
I took over 200 pictures today (mostly of the bears) but I will try to give you a sample of them here.
Icebergs we saw in the water next to the shore just before the entrance to the tunnel.
Then we took the world’s longest highway tunnel through a mountain and the only way to get to Whittier by land.
We walked around the harbor
This is the ferry that takes you out of Whittier and goes up and down the Alaskan Marine Highway.
We were hungry so we had a late lunch at
After we drove back to Seward it was 6:45pm. We decided to get an ice cream then walked out on the dock to see the fisherman’s catch for the day. We saw a halibut that weighed 70 lbs. (I left my camera in the truck).
Until tomorrow!!

Great pictures. I'm surprised that I have not seen you on the road, we seem to be going to all the same places within a day or two of each other. We are in Valdez now.
I know how difficult it can be to publish a daily blog.
But, we really really appreciate when you do ... lol.
Awesome photos of the wildlife today!!
Hugs, TnT
I almost never post a blog on a day when we "do something", so I can understand how difficult it must be to post everyday, especially when there is so much to see and do! We appreciate you sharing your travels with us, though, and love following along with you!!
