Fun, Fun Fun!!

Tuesday, October 19 - Parked at Holman's

Here we are parked in the parking lot at the dealership.

We have 50 amps and we filled our water tank. It certainly isn't the quietest place to stay, but it is free and we are here to watch all the steps needed to get our new home ready.

The campground where we had planed to stay is about 40 minutes away so this way we are right on top of things.

We went to visit our new home this morning while it was still on the lot. We wanted to do some measuring, here are a few pictures

Our measuring was not the best news. We had planned to switch out our recliners with the new ones, but ours don't fit. The area in the back with the rocker recliners is smaller then the Montana's, by about 6 inches. Therefore they won't fit when the slides are in. We measured the sofa to place there and it also is too big for the space.

So we are really bummed out. We have been thinking about just having the 4 recliners and no sofa, but we were looking forward to having a sofa again. It will be very nice to have something convenient to sleep on when the grandchildren come to visit. Of course we can just get an air bed to use when that happens.

Some feedback from everyone would be gladly accepted.

We went to Panera Bread for lunch and I made turkey burgers for dinner.

Its a PITA but can you flip the recliners over on the sofa when you are traveling? That way there is nothing in the back windows while going down the road. Just an idea, not the best solution but perhaps it would keep the recliners you like!

We have two couches in our rig and Brenda likes it just fine. I guess I would like my old recliner out of the sticks and bricks but like yours it is too big.

I think the pictures show an absolutely lovely rig. I hope you enjoy it for a long time.

I'm sure that was a disappointment when you found things that won't fit. Maybe you can come up with an alternate plan. We have two couches in our MH. I didn't want to give up either couch, but we also wanted one recliner - so it sits in the aisle. When we are going down the road it rides underneath the dinette table. Looks weird, but it works for us. Comfort is important.

The new 5th wheel is very, very nice.

Can you swap out the couch and recliners? (put sofa in the back window?) Then your recliners could sit on side where sofa is now? We tried that on ours, but we couldn't bring in slides with it there. Beautiful trailer, should be a very comfortable home for you.

Nice one! We're looking at a Montana, they sure are nice!

Hi guys,
Marilyn & I have to turn our recluners sideways for travel, but that does allow the slides to come in.
Good luck with your decision. We are anxious to see you guys on Saturdaay. Whoopie!

We recently bought our new rig at Holman, too (Eddie is a really nice young man, Jamie was our salesperson_)...BUT, many things were not ready...or even installed yet (after arranging to do so two months earlier!), when we arrived to pick it up, and we only got a one hour "walk-through" in pouring rain, they didn't even show us how to hook and un-hook the new fifth-wheel hitch...so, very disappointed and still trying to figure out the workings of our rig on our own before we take off to Texas for the winter. We went to Holman because of the reviews we read, but, considering the way things went after we put our money down, I doubt that we would go there again. (Jamie dropped the ball...HARD! We haven't even heard a thing from her since.) Hope your walk-through and pick-up went MUCH better! Maybe our bad experience with Holman was a fluke?...I hope.
Looking forward to reading more about your experiences. Nice rig, by the way.
