We all met the bus at the RV office at 8:30am for our excursion today. The bus was about 3/4 the way full, which meant we were sitting towards the back of the bus. Not a great place to ride when you are claustrophobic, but a managed.
Our 1st stop was Emerald Lake. It is a lake in the southern Yukon, notable for its intense green color. It is located on the South Klondike Highway, 117.5 kilometers (mile 73.5), measured from Skagway, Alaska. The color derives from light reflecting off white deposits of marl, a mixture of clay and calcium carbonate, at the bottom of the shallow waters.
We drove on to Carcross which is a village with gold rush and First Nation history. It gets it’s name from a shorten form of Caribou Crossing.
This southern gate to Yukon's interior and the gold fields saw thousands of stampeders pass through during the heyday of the Klondike Gold Rush.
Our next stop was Fraiser where we boarded the train to Skagway, Alaska.
The sites were just beautiful. We took way too many pictures to post here. I will just post a few of the ones I like the most, one was of a bear we saw.
We rode over this bridge
We crossed into Alaska indicated by these flags
Many beautiful waterfalls.
We arrived in Skagway. We walked around the town which has changes a lot since Jesse and I were here in 1999.
We walked around the town and had lunch in the 2 hours we were there. There were several cruise ships in port so the town was very busy.
Look who we saw: Guess who?
We rode the bus all the way back to Whitehorse and arrived about 6pm.
Fun day!!

If you return and head down the Cassiar Highway at Watson Lake, just south of that junction an hour or so is a campground called Boya Lake. Same beautiful colours and a water side site to enjoy them from.
Beautiful photos on your bus trip.
What a great idea!! That way you can visit with B&J while travelling.
Safe travels ... TnT
