Fun, Fun Fun!!

Fun, Fun Fun!!

Saturday, January 16 – Mariachi and Romano

Today was the day we were to go to Edinburg to attend a performance at the University of Texas-Pan American Fine Arts Auditorium.

It was about 2 hours of Mariachi music and if you like this kind of music these groups were really good. There were 19 of us and some said there were many more from the resort there. The whole auditorium was filled with Seniors.

The opening show was a group from Veterans Middle School of 11-13 year olds that were very good. The girls that sang (all in Spanish) were fantastic.

The second group were made up of girls only, one of very few all girls Mariachi’s.

The third group was a mixed group that also had the teachers and some alumni in the group.

The fourth and finale group was also very entertaining. I am not sure if you can tell from the picture, but the costumes were really beautiful.

They also had a guest singer “Maria Elena Beltran” (all in Spanish) and three dancers

It was very enjoyable performance. Would have been even more if I understood the words.

After the show we all went to the Marconi Grill for dinner. You can never go wrong at this place. There were 12 of us and we sat at 3 different tables close to each other. The food was really good and the company fantastic!

We got home in time for Jesse to see most of the Ravens game. He was very disappointed with the outcome, but thought the Colts played better and deserved the win.

Hugs to everyone!
