Fun, Fun Fun!!

Fun, Fun Fun!!

Wednesday September 16, 2015 - Picnic and ELK (Estes Park, Colorado)

This morning I made us breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast and jelly. After that was all cleaned up I made a picnic lunch.

We got our showers and headed out for the park again.

The Jellystone Park is about 5 minutes South of Estes Park.  As we approached Lake Estes we noticed lots of elk along the lake. A few walked right out on the road and of course we stopped. Traffic on the other side almost hit the elk and it scared me very much.

We have been in and out of the park many times since we got here so we are very happy we have the "America the Beautiful" park pass AKA "Geezer Pass".

We entered and drove through the park again and were surprised to find more elk since they are usually only out in the early mornings and at dusk.

We even saw a glacier in the distance.

I was trying to take some pictures for Marilyn so she could see how the Aspens are changing, but couldn’t get a good picture. You can see how the trees are just barely changing to yellow.

We found a nice picnic area right next to stream to have our lunch. We shared our chips with the blue birds in the area.

My handsome lunch partner.

We came home around 4:15pm and just relaxed for the rest of the evening.

Tuesday, September 15, 2015 - Beautiful Ride and ELK! (Estes Park, Colorado)

Today we went out for breakfast at Egg and I. It was very tasty.

Then we went back to the rig to get Bella and went for a ride to Loveland.

We traveled Route 34 on Big Thompson River Canyon Rd. It was really a pretty drive.

Once we got back to camp we just relaxed.
I made dinner and cleaned up then we went for a ride to see Elk.

Into the Woods

We saw many Elk, but these are just a few.

Sunday - September 13, 2015 - Travel to Estes Park, (Colorado)

Yesterday we left Mountaindale at 9:21am and headed north on I-25. We arrived at Jellystone Yogi Bear Camp around 12:30.

We paid our bill and got set up.  Jesse’s first task was to get the dish all called in to get local channels so he could watch the Raven’s football game.

We have no phone service here and the WiFi is not much better, but he got it done just in time to see the kick off.

After the game the three of us got in the car and went for a drive. We saw a few elk in a field and I took a few pictures.

We didn’t stay out very long and returned home. I heated some dinner and we watch TV until going to bed.

Monday, September 14, 2015

Today we got our showers and decided to take a ride to town and walk around the shops.

We passed the Stanley Hotel where the movie “The Shining” was made with Jack Nicholson.

We took Bella with us and Jesse carried her most of the time in her sling.
(I didn’t take a picture today.)

We walked the shops and saw a guy make a pumpkin with hand blown glass, it was really interesting.

We stopped for lunch at Baba’s Drive-in, we both had a 1/4 pound hot dog that really hit the spot.

Then we decided to take a ride on Old Fall River Road. It’s a one way dirt road to Alpine Visitors Center. It was a really pretty drive.

It took us about 1 ½ hours to get to the top of the 11 mile dirt road. Above the tree lines.

After walking around up there we decided to ride to Grand Lake. We just rode through the town, promising to return, then headed back home.

We had been in the car for about 4 1/2 hours and I was ready to be home.

We snacked on cheese, crackers and grapes for dinner and just relaxed.
