Fun, Fun Fun!!

Fun, Fun Fun!!

Saturday, January 23 – Do Nothing Day

Jesse walked with the guys, while I made the bed, coffee and dressed for the day. When he returned we headed over to Mingo’s to have breakfast with Ed, Marilyn, Roger and Joyce.

Just as we were finishing Gilbert strolled in. He had dropped Louise somewhere and decided to stop in and have coffee. He sat with us for a little before Jesse and I left.

After retuning to the resort we computered for a while.

Roger dropped by to show Jesse his manual on his DVD player that he couldn't get to work. Jesse decided to go down with him to help.

After a bit I decided to go to Walmart for a pedicure. I walked down to let Jesse know I was leaving and Joyce wanted to also go. We had an enjoyable pedicure, picked up a few items we both needed and home again.

Jesse still wasn’t home when I got there. I walked down the street and found him sitting on Rogers patio with Ed have a cool refreshment.

Once I got there the ladies join in and we sat for awhile.

Back at the rig we just relaxed. I was very tired (I haven’t slept well for 2 nights now) and just sat in my recliner hopping to nap, only no nap came.

I made a loaf of bread for dinner along with a big salad with left over grilled chicken.

It was a do nothing kind of day and very enjoyable.

Friday, January 22 – Shopping and Visiting with new Friends

I have to tell you about Howard and Becky who we met last week. I should have said something last week about this, but not sure why I didn’t.

Jesse and I were sitting out in the afternoon and a lady and her husband rode by on their bikes and stopped to say “Hi, we are Becky and Howard and we read your blog”. We talked with them for a short while before they took off again on their bikes.

We know other blog writers have had this happen to them all the time, but this was our 1st time.

We were both very pleased to meet someone we didn’t know who reads our blog. They also read Ed and Marilyn’s blog, but had not met them yet.

Today when we came back from our shopping trip we walked down to E&M’s and we found Howard and Becky there sitting with them. We were able to visit with them some more before the air got too cool to sit out. Nice people from Oklahoma.

Becky apologized for just popping in on us last week. She said “I could have emailed you 1st”. Let me say right now that we were honored to have someone say they read our journal and stop by to meet us. It is nice to hear that all my work is appreciated by people that we have not met.

And, for anyone else out there If you see us PLEASE stop by to say hello, we would love to meet you!

We had a good day today. We took 83 west towards McAllen. Our 1st stop was Staples where I needed to get some envelopes. Then we stopped at Petco to get the boys some dog food.

After that I dropped Jesse off at Best Buy and I went over to DW Shoes then Bealls to look around. I went back to get him at Best Buy.

We then went to lunch at Mimi’s Cafe

IMG_1328[1] We had a very nice lunch and an even better dessert.

Afterwards we went to the big HEB Plus grocery store. We walk around, picked up a few items we needed before returning to Mercedes and Llano.

It was a very nice afternoon spent with Jesse, thanks honey for a nice time.

Thursday, January 21 – Laundry and organizing

Today started like yesterday, cool and foggy. The fog burned off around 11:00 and a beautiful day was here.

I needed to wash sheets, dogs beds and rugs so I packed up the truck with Jesse’s help and drove to the laundry mat here at the resort.

After getting all that finished and put away I made a bagel for myself, while Jesse ate a left over hamburger.

We took everything out of the left side of the basement and got it all organized. Unfortunately it seems no matter how you arrange things, some items are behind others which means you need to pull out things to get to other things.  There just should be a better way, and if anyone comes up with one let us know.

We were inside the rig and it got quite warm so we put the A/C on for a few hours. I was reading a book Marilyn had given me, while Jesse was computering.

Then around 4 Marilyn came by to tell us to meet them at Cathy and Elgin’s for a cocktail. I grabbed a glass of wine and so did Jesse.

Soon Carl, Linda, Roger and Joyce joined us and Cathy brought out some snacks and we had a great time enjoying each others company.

As the sun went down so did the temps, so we all went home.

Jesse started the grill and he grilled blacken tuna for himself and salmon for me. I made wilted spinach to go along with dinner and it was really good.

We just relaxed in our loungers for the rest of the evening.

Another wonderful day in RGV.
